Pockets Full of Paradoxes

“Paradox….is the smile of truth” ~Alicia Ostriker

Pocket Full of Paradoxes

It lives life hidden in a child’s giggling head
with a pocket full of paradoxes
seemingly familiar
yet as invisible as any individual
It will begin
to sting the second
poison becomes its face

This showing bleeds our essence with a vast
stranger kind of strength which is almost
a set of wrinkling eyeballs
This busy buzzing hum is the cyclic
superstition of life
The vestige reminds chattering
to a hermit-laced poem in his
trombone flavored ears

It is pseudo love
the mirror varnished
with Christ’s barefeet
This is where all
the secrets happen
